A fragment of a Mesolithic or Neolithic knapped flint axe or adze head. This is the rear section of the tool; in cross-section this has a narrow elliptic shape with pointed terminals whilst in plan the side’s tapper to the narrow, rounder butt. There are multiple flaking scars covering both the ventral and dorsal sides, on one dorsal side the flaking scars and rather smooth and the regular curve of the sides suggest this are may have been partially ground and polished.
