Circular copper alloy pedestal type seal matrix. This has a hexagonal handle projecting from the rear of the matrix which is surmounted with a pentagonal loop with a circular hole in the centre. Item 1 A Late Bronze Age socketed axe of the 'Yorkshire' type (Schmidt & Burgess 1981, 223-39). The interior of the socket has a sub-square shape with rounded corners and measures 32x30 at the aperture. The socket of the axe is a flared trumpet shaped that narrows to a raised collar that runs around its base. On one sided of the collar is a circular raised nodule (7mm in diameter), the remains of the casting sprue/feed .
