A heavily worn and incomplete Bronze Age palstave axe head. Extensive surface loss has occurred along the edges and surfaces of the find, giving the axe and thin irregular form. The butt end is sub-square, and is slightly more truncated to one side. From the butt, the sides flare slightly. The side flanges are missing; however, the stop ridge is still prominently visible, especially on one side. A copper alloy buckle. The buckle, cast, is roughly rectangular in plan, trapezoid in cross section. There is decoration running around the perimeter of the internal frame in the form of diagonal grooves. Each corner of the outer edge of the frame ends in a point knop although one corner is truncated with the knop now missing. Centrally, along each shorter outer edge the frame curves in an ‘M’ shape. A copper alloy finger ring. The ring has an oval hoop which is roughly oval in cross section with a convex outer surface and a convex, although slightly flatter inner surface. The hoop is truncated. The bezel is sub-oval in shape and appears flat with no evidence for a lip (if it had a lip, this would have held the gemstone). A silver finger ring. The ring is sub-oval, slightly squashed in form, and formed from a single thin sheet of silver. The ring has decoration in the form of two thin incisions along part of its face. There is no hallmark, and the rest of the ring is plain. The ring is difficult to date and while there have been a number of Roman finds within the vicinity, the ring does not appear to be of obvious Roman form. A lead weight. The weight is circular in form and engraved with ‘IIII’ on one face. The reverse has a single linear line running across the face but is otherwise plain. Illegal lead weights are notoriously difficult to date as they bear no official mark.

The key consists of a triangular bow, an oval in section solid stem, and a sub-rectangular bit with multiple wards and clefts projecting.  An incised X is visible on the stem as it tapers outwards at the bow. No direct comparable examples could be found. The key is too big to be identified as a casket key, and could therefore be suggested to have been a door key. While the key doesn’t fit stylistically with any compared examples, it can be suggested to be of late medieval to post medieval date.

A copper-alloy mount. The brooch is formed of a single plate of copper alloy in the shape of a Tudor rose. Raised floral decoration is present on the front face. On the reverse, aside from seeing the underside of the decoration, the mount is plain with no visible attachment points. Due to the thinness of the metal the mount has become slightly warped and has a number of voids on its surface, probably occurring post deposition. Based on comparable examples the find is likely Post Medieval (1650-1750) in date.

A copper alloy object. The find comprises a flat plate with three protruding fingers (one truncated) and an opposing circular perforation. The perforation is a warped oval, with the copper-alloy being substantially worn around the perforation, indicating that it was likely used as either a suspension loop or similar which has led to the warping of the copper-alloy. The object only features a suspension loop at one end, indicating it was perhaps a decorative fitting, possibly an animal tag, although no comparable objects could be found.

A post medieval nuremberg jetton. This is one of the most commonly found Neurenberg designs, the obverse shows the crowns and lis alternating around a central rose.  The legend indicates its issuer, likely to be Hans Krauwinckel II (active from 1586-1635) who is one of the most commonly found issuers in England The reverse shows an orb within an elaborate trilobe.     Both the central obverse and reverse designs are identifiable and the legends are also partially legible. The top edge of the jetton has been damaged, impacting the legend and leaving a jagged edge.

A copper alloy object of unknown use or date. This object is conical in shape, hollow, and contains two circular perforations at the apex and base.   The object is brown in colour and heavily corroded with a pitted and lumpy surface.  A crack appears down its length, but the two sides have not parted.

A lead weight in a conical or bell shape. The weight has a white patina, and its surface is lightly pitted on the sides and deeply pitted on its bottom. At its apex the metal is curved to the side and there is a divot where there may have once been a perforation so the weight could have been suspended, although the flat bottom to the weight indicates that it would have been freestanding.

A probable lead musket ball. The ball is roughly spherical in shape with the longer diameter measuring 26mm and the shorter 23mm. The ball’s patina is white in colour, slightly pitted with a band running around its diameter. This may be a casting seam or may have been formed due to compression during the ball’s firing.
