A fragment of a lead striking of the dies for a penny of Cnut (1016-35), short cross type (c. AD1029-36; North 790), moneyer: uncertain, mint: London. Ref: North 1994: 168.
The fragment is torn, partially folded (this does not appear to be a deliberate act, but probably occured post deposition) and incomplete with parts of the coin design missing. The folding of the sheet has obscured much of what remains of the reverse of the coin and the moneyer's name is not visible even if it survives. A truncated and worn copper-alloy, early medieval (Anglo-Saxon) strap end, Thomas Class A1 with Trewhiddle-style decoration although this is too worn to discern individual elements, c.AD 800-900.
The attachment end, with likely rivet holes, no longer survives but the rest is complete. There is a central panel containing Trewhiddle-style decoration, and a zoomorphic terminal showing an animal head with large ears and one surviving triangular eye. Each side of the strap end is slightly convex with a beveled appearance.

The strap end is complete with some surface corrosion. The attachment end is split with drilled two rivet holes thought both sides of the split, both containing iron rivets. The strap end is worn and corroded with a damaged attachment end, including broken rivet holes and only one side of the split end surviving. The terminal is zoomorphic, an animal head including snout and two sub-rectangular ears still visible if worn. The central panel above once contained enamel but this is now almost entirely missing except for small central patch. No design or other decorative feature remains. The reverse is undecorated.

The surviving fragment of the strap end consists of a lower part of the central panel and a truncated zoomorphic terminal. This animal head terminal forms approximately 75% of the remaining fragment with two curving sub-oval ears and an eye visible. A complete Roman seal box of Andrews 2009 'acorn' type P4 dating to the second half of the first century to the second century.
The box is acorn shaped and hinged at the rounded end. The lid is decorated with a raised crescent shape, with enamel filling. A small lug can be seen on either side of the lid at the apex. The base of the box has three holes each enclosed by a annulet/ring, placed in a triangular design (two at the rounded end, one at the apex). A copper-alloy polyhedral-headed pin of Middle Anglo-Saxon date (c.AD650-850). The pin head is lozenge shaped with two flat faces and a small collar beneath. Each face is decorated with four small punched ring-and-dot decorative motifs, although these are hard to see owing to the surviving quality of the surface of the pin.
