An incomplete cast copper-alloy mount of post-medieval (c.AD 1500 - 1700). Description: The object is broadly sub-rectangular in plan with semi circular indentations on both of the long sides, either side of the central trefoil projections. There is an incised line bordering the straigt edge at each end. On the reverse there is an intergral lug curving into the mount that is almost flat with the object. A near complete cast copper-alloy mount of Roman date (c.43-410). Description: The object is in the form of a small bird with moulded wings, tail, feet and head. The eyes of the bird are deep recessed holes and would have been inlaid. The wings and tails have incised lines to depict feathers, as do the feet to represent its claws.
