An incomplete silver denarius of the Roman Republican period, from the Legionary issue of Mark Antony (BC32-31). Obverse: Galley right [ANT AVG] III VIR R P [C[. Reverse: Legionary eagle between two standards (of which only the tip of the eagle's wings are visible) inscription illegible The obverse description suggests that the coin is from the period that coinage was issued under Mark Antony in honour of up to twenty three legions.
