A sherd of externally glazed earthernware pottery. The fabric is reduced pale grey at the core with orange-red oxidised margins. It is tempered with abundant fine sand and sparse grog. The sherd is quite abraded The sherd has an external cordon and flanking groove around the girth. There is an internal shoulder, probably a lid seat. The exterior is decorated with vertical bands of trailed off-white slip with traces of green glaze over. Probably a sherd from a jug.  Date: Late Medieval - c.1400 - 1500 Weight: 19 g

A base sherd from a Roman Oxfordshire red slipped ware vessel dating to the period c. AD 240 - 410. The sherd consists of part of a circular foot ring with edges terminating in old breaks. The fabric is orange in colour. It exhibits mica inclusions. The surfaces are coated in a smooth orange-red slip which has been heavily abraded.
