A post-Medieval copper-alloy Nuremberg Jetton, of anonymous 'ship-penny' type (c. 1490-1550). Obverse: sailing ship with rigging and sail, with waves beneath, the bow has a pennant pole on the right, the stern a flag on the left. Reverse: Four fleur-de-lis in a lozenge surrounded with trefoils flanked by small annulets in each quarter of the field. Fictitious legends. Cf. Mitchiner (1988) number 1171. A very worn nd corroded copper-alloy post-medieval Nuremberg jetton of anonymous issuer of the Lion of St Mark type dating to c. AD 1500-1570. It has been perforated five times, possibly for reuse. Four holes are fairly equally spaced around the perimeter, made through the reverse, forming a broadly square pattern. A smaller hole has also been made through the obverse at its centre. Measurements: diameter 26 mm, weight 3.59 g

It has also been pierced at the 3 o'clock position, although this piercing appears less orderly. Measurements: 21.3mm diameter, 0.4mm thickness, weight 1.19g

A copper alloy jetton from the post medieval period (c. AD 1586-1635). An example of a Nuremberg token, probably minted by Hans Krauwinkel II in Nuremberg, Germany, with the obverse showing the Imperial orb contained within a tressure of three arches and three points and the reverse showing three crowns and three lis surrounding a broken rose. YORYM-867252 is a very similar example. See Mitchiner (1988) Jetons, Medalets and Tokens, vol. I, p. 445, nos. 1574 - 1578. 19.6mm diameter, 0.53mm thick, 0.71g weight.

See Mitchiner (1988, 435) It measures 25 mm in diameter. It has been pierced through the obverse at about 3 o'clock around the inner circle, corresponding to about 9 o'clock on the reverse, possibly for conversion into an item of jewellery. There are some minor circumferential losses.
