A complete Iron Age gold stater of the Dobunni / Western Region, issued by BODVOC, dating to the period 20 BC- AD 10. Rudd's 'Boduoc Bold'. Obverse: BODVO[C] on plain field. Reverse: Triple-tailed horse right, wheel below, cross, crescent and two ringed-pellets. ABC p. 104, no. 2039. cf BMC nos. 3135-3137. Single finds of this coin usually cluster around the north Avon and eastern Severn area with this thought to be the area of minting under Boduoc of the Dobunni.
