A Post Medieval, hammered silver half groat of James I (1603-1625). Second coinage with a tun initial mark, dating it to 1615-16. Mint of London. An example of Type 2105/1 (North 2006: 146). The central area of both the obverse and reverse faces is badly worn, so that the thistle is entirely blanked out and only the top 30% of the rose is visible.
It is 16.3mm in diameter and 0.67mm thick. It weighs 0.91g.
