A silver groat of Edward IV which has been modified by cutting a large circular hole in the centre, probably to make a brooch. The coin is a groat of Edward IV dating to 1461-1467. Class IV-VII, Fleurs on cusps, initial mark unclear. Minted at Bristol. North (1991, 87) 1580. The coin has been modified by cutting a roughly circular hole 9mm in diameter. The angled sides and slight distortion to the coin suggests the cutting was done from the reverse.
