An incomplete post medieval copper alloy hooked tag dating to AD 1550-1650. The fastener comprises the rectangular sewing loop which is set above a circular decorative plate, which, while damaged and eroded, nonetheless retains a sense of its original floral decoration. The hook is now missing. This is an example of Read's Class E Type 3 Post-Medieval hooked tags with circular plates (Read, 2008: nos. 342-346). The token is badly worn on both sides, although the obverse preserves a triangle within a heart design while the reverse probably depicts two crowned hearts. The design on one face consists of a six petalled flower with a centre and border (Powell type 1). The reverse appears to show an imitation of a right-facing bust (Powell type 10). A complete cast copper-alloy Medieval bar mount dating to AD 1250-1450. The mount is formed of a central sub-oval body, from which two sub-circular terminal lobes extend. The main central body is hemispherical in section and concave on the reverse. The terminal lobes are hemispherical in section, and both are drilled and contain copper alloy rivets in-situ, which would have attached the mount to a strap. The book clasp is flattened, and broadly lozenge in form, with a broadly rectangular area bisecting this, and terminates in a hook. The opposite end terminates in an abraded break.
