A copper alloy button dating to the post medieval period, c. AD 1500-1600. The button is discoidal in shape, with a domed cross section and flat back. The perimeter of the button is damaged and a small area is missing, as is the shank. The flattened, rectangular base of the shank implies it would have had a stem and simple looped flank. There is a central pellet clearly visible, and possibly the suggestion of a sexfoil. This decoration is akin to that presented by Read (2005: 58) no. 218 which is also from South Somerset, and dated to the 16th century. Measurements: 17.3mm …

A copper alloy, post medieval to modern, incomplete, circular military button. The button has a convex exterior and concave reverse. The exterior has a raised King's crown above the letter 'V' which is above and in between the letters 'S L'. The exterior has a white metal wash. The reverse has a raised central circular stub 4.42mm in diameter which is the remains of the shank which is now missing. A slightly raised line runs either side of the shank to the opposite edges of the button.

A Post-Medieval lead button, probably dating to the c. 17th century. The button is undecorated, circular in plan and flat in cross section. From the centre of the reverse projects an integral, long, circular-sectioned shank terminating in a circular loop with an undrilled perforation. The shank is flanked by casting seams, and has been bent flat against the button. Dimensions: diameter: 14.8mm; thickness 6.5mm; weight 2.57g. cf. Read (2008: 66) no. 261, dated to the 17th century.

A Post Medieval copper alloy button. The button is circular in plan; both faces are flat. The front face is decorated with a pattern of four curvilinear 'swirls' arranged in cruciform within a circle. There is a semi-circle in the space between each swirl.The back face is plain and there are the remains of an attachment loop, now partially broken away. The button probably dates to the 18th century.
