A Post-Medieval gold posy ring. The outer hoop is plain and appears to have been polished. The inner hoop bears the inscription 'God gives increase to love and peace' followed by what appears to be a maker's mark, a letter H within an irregular shield shaped enclosure. Dimensions: Weight: 8.11g, Diameter: 13.37mm, Thickness: 1.74 mm, Width of band: 5.50mm Discussion: A finger-ring within the British Museum's collection (1961, 1202. 251) has the similar inscription 'God gives incrase to love & peace' and is dated to the late 17th to early 18th century.
