Workflow stage: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation
A post-medieval copper-alloy double looped oval buckle, dating to c. AD 1550-1650, incomplete insofar as it is missing its pin. The frame is decorated with bilobed knops at two symmetrical points on the outer edge of each loop. There should be a pair of rosettes positioned at the centre of the outer edge of each loop but the design is very worn. Lobed knops protrude at either end of the pin bar, which is narrowed and slightly bent inwards. The frame is bent in profile, most likely from damage rather than use.  Measurements: 49 mm in length, 35 mm in widt…

A distorted copper-alloy, symmetrical, double-loop buckle, of post-medieval date (c. 16th century), incomplete only insofar as it is missing its pin. The buckle consists of a pair of oval loops. A small rounded knop is present either end of the central pin bar. There is a moulded rose at the centre of each outer edge, perhaps with six petals on each rose. The reverse is flat and undecorated. The frame is angled in profile with one of the loops having been bent upwards; it is unclear how much of this is as a result of use and how much post-depositiona…

A post medieval copper alloy pendant, dating to c. AD 1600-1800. The object is circular in shape and flattened in cross section, slightly irregularly angled due to the large suspension hole which is pierced into its upper centre. This aperture is at the centre of the design inscribed onto the surface, which is a many rayed sunburst. Traces of gilding survive on the outer surface. The reverse is plain and undecorated but also retains traces of gilding. Measurements: 26.1mm diameter, 2.3mm thickness, weight 7.02g.

An almost complete cast lead or lead-alloy lion head mount of modern date, c. 1800-1900 Similarly to KENT-E56D67, the mount is circular in plan with moulded relief decoration in the form of a lion's head surrounded by a mane. Medieval to Post Medieval cast lead-alloy circular bifacial token of Powell type 1/Powell type 2 (c. AD 1550-1850). The token has a raised design, with a central pellet surrounded by six eliptical petals reaching the edge of the token, in the fashion of a stylised flower. The reverse is marked with the initials C . F (or possibly E) with a transverse line above and below. The reverse design is also raised. Lead tokens had a wide variety of uses and were made locally; they are therefore hard to date precisely and could be Medieval or Post Medieval in date. Powell (2012: 1) notes tha…
