An incomplete medieval copper-alloy buckle plate (c. AD 1200-1400), now folded round on itself into a squashed loop. It is uncertain whether this folding was for a particular purpose, perhaps for reuse as a thimble, of if it was more accidental. Around half of the rectangular plate survives, having been broken a the weak point where is would have been folded and recessed for a buckle frame, with a slot for the pin; one of the tabs survives. The two loops are both bilobal in shape, with this created by the thickening at the centre of the vertical sides of the frame.
