Postmedieval silver coin. The coin is a silver halfgroat of James I (1603- 1625). On the obverse of the coin is a rose with a large crown above, the reverse has a thistle with a large crown above. The coin has been slightly clipped around the edges; the mintmark is not clear, but it is probably a rose, which would date the coin to being minted in the years 1605- 6 or 1623-4 AD. The petals on the obverse rose are in the later style, so the coin can be dated to 1623- 1624 AD. Spink number 2659; North number 2104.

Postmedieval silver coin. The coin is a halfgroat of Charles I (1625 - 1649 AD). The coin has been heavily clipped around the edges, and a section of it has been cut off. The obverse is worn. On the reverse, it is just possible to make out part of part of the oval shield.
