A forged iron projectile, probably an arrowhead or crossbow bolt, of medieval date, c. AD 1200-1500.
The object has a shortened rectangular tang, which broadens quickly into a tapering shaft. This shaft remains broadly rectilinear before flaring to create a more rounded appearance. It then narrows sharply to form the point. It is a horizontal pointed oval in cross section. The iron surface is now pitted and decayed, and patches of orange iron corrosion show on both the upper and lower surfaces.
