An incomplete silver Roman hair pin, only the head and short length of the shaft survive. This fragment weights 3.24g, and has an incomplete length of 21.7mm. A rectangular plinth, that accounts for 2.8mm of the length, separates the pin shaft from the rest of the pin head. The plinth measures 7.4mm width x 6.1mm thickness and is decorated by a groove running around all sides, set at the mid point on the length axis, that creates the appearance of two thin plinths one hovering above the other.
