A late medieval silver Venetian Soldino of Doge Leonardo Loredan. These are also known as 'Galyhalpens' and were in use, in England, in the first half of the 15th century despite attempts by the State to prohibit their use. Further information, regarding their arrival and use, can be found in 'Continental Coins in Late Medieval England' p.132-139. For a similar example see CORN-D3AF51, P.A.S. report 2006, p.119. Die-axis one o'clock, weight 0.21g, diameter 12.40mm, thickness 0.56mm.
