Medieval copper alloy bar mount from a belt with central and terminal lobes. The two terminal lobes are solid with a copper alloy rivet at the centre; the central lobe is domed with a band of decoration 5.5mm wide. The small hole through the central lobe is probably incidental damage. The decoration comprises horizontal grooves. Similarly decorated bar mounts with central and terminal lobes from London date to the second half of the 14th century (Egan & Pritchard 1991 nos.1160 and 1161

A copper alloy circular seal matrix. It has a perforated trefoil knop with a ridge and groove below, above a hexagonal stem that widens to the base. The matrix itself has a central circular motif of a bird of prey, left, landing on another bird, left, below it. The upper bird has a long tail and a hooked, open beak. The lower bird has a long, closed beak and possibly webbed feet. The inscription runs around the outer circle, beginning with a six-pointed star and ending with a circle. It reads: 'ALAS JE SUPRI(S)' ('Alas I am caught'), a popular motto.

A copper-alloy belt mount or horse harness decoration of suggested 17th century AD date (B. Read; 2001; pp. 28). The main section of the mount is drop-shaped. At the bottom, the sides converge gradually towards a trefoil terminal; at the top, a rounded lobe extends up from the centre of the main part. The upper surface is slightly convex. On the reverse are two integral rivets, both of which have been bent inwards.

A copper alloy strap end in the form of an elongated triangle with two semi circular shapes cut out of the wide end. The narrow point is broken. The object appears to be cast in one piece with a slot at the top to take the strap. It does not seem to be made up of two plates and a forked, inner separator as some medieval strap ends are. The front face is decorated with sinuous double lines of punched triangles. The top of the strap end has a single rivet framed by a slightly skewed diamond shape of three punched lines. A domed pewter button top with an incised decoration. This consists of a central pellet in a circle from which radiate severn narrow triangular petals. The spaces between these is filled with roughly cut lines. The reverse is hollow.

Medieval copper alloy finger ring. It is missing its setting, but is otherwise complete and is covered in a green patina. The slender hoop, flattend in cross section, rising to a pointed bezel. The bezel has a conical indentation for the setting. It is similar to 1608 and 1609 from London (Egan and Pritchard 1991). Because of their shape, these rings are known as stirrup rings and were popular from the middle of the 12th century until at least the middle of the 15th (Egan and Pritchard 1991, 326).

A copper alloy mount with a central pyramidal boss, flanked by opposing flat lugs. On the reverse of the mount the two rivets can be seen springing from the backs of the lugs. A patch of additional copper alloy appears to fill in the hollow behind the boss.

A conical, oval, copper alloy seal matrix with a faceted upper part. In this example the usual perforated trefoil loop has been replaced by a double loop with curliques on either side. The emblem of the seal matrix consists of two crested birds facing each other breast to breast with a crown over, a heart beneath and a rosette either side. All this is within a beaded border. There is no inscription

A worn copper alloy bow and fantail brooch, complete but for the pin and possibly a loop springing from the wings. The arched bow splays out into a sub-triangular foot on which there is a raised pattern This consists of a diamond above an arc which curls in towards the centre at each end. The remains of the catch plate are on the reverse of this. Similar 1st-2nd century examples can be seen in Hattatt (2000 p 315)

A complete medieval or post medieval cast lead alloy circular uniface token, c. AD 1250-1800, Powell Class 14. The obverse is decorated with with a raised equal armed cross, with a pellet in each quarter, all enclosed in a raised line border. The reverse is undecorated.
Lead tokens had a wide variety of uses and were made locally; they are therefore hard to date precisely and could be medieval or post medieval in date. Until recently cross and pellet designs were thought to be contemporary with the similar medieval coin designs; however publication of moulds and double faced tokens…
