The stem is circular in section and tapers slightly before the uneven break, which appears to be old. The fragment measures 50mm in length; the stem measures 5mm in diameter; the head, 10mm in diameter.
The pin does not conform to Crummy's typology for bone pins from Colchester (Crummy 1983).
