An incomplete copper-alloy openwork decorative fitting dating to the second or third centuries AD. The mount comprises a flat oval plate decorated with three spirals of openwork decoration. A flat, rectangular plate extends from one end of the plate. Part of this plate is bent back on itself. This appears to be post-depositional damage. Corrosion products (possibly mineralised leather?) adhere to the upper surface of this rectangular plate, giving it a darker, discoloured appearance. On the underside of the mount are three circular-section lugs with applied rectangular end-plates. The mount measures a maximum of 19mm in length, 60mm in width and 3mm in thickness. The upper surface of the plate is decorated with two diagonal grooves which emphasise the trilobate nature of the plate. The base of the plate may be broken. On the underside of the plate, near the base, there extends a semi-circular lug. The lug is perforated but filled with iron corrosion products. The object measures 30mm in length, 36mm in width. An unidentified copper-alloy object, of uncertain date but probably not Roman. The object is shaped like a thimble, being hollow and cylindrical in shape and expanding towards it base. At the narrower end, there extends a short, circular-section lug. The cylindrical body bears evidence of diagonal file marks. The interior of the cylinder appears to be coated in lead solder or similar. The object measures 18mm in length. The top of the cylinder has a diameter of 10mm while the bottom has a diameter of 16mm. The lug has a diameter of 2mm.
