Post medieval silver stud; small circular plano-convex stud (flat on the back) with integral square-sectioned tapering spike projecting from the reverse; stud has moulded decoration of an eight-spoked wheel with two pellets in each angle. Reminiscent of late medieval/early post medieval lead buttons. A complete copper-alloy bell-shaped stud dating to the Roman period. It is a variant of Allason-Jones (1985) Type 1. The fitting possesses a base which is circular in plan and conical in section. At the apex of the cone, there is a spherical terminal with perforation. The fitting is hollow and filled with corrosion products. Two rectangular-section attachment lugs extend from the interior of the fitting. The stud has a height of 26.6mm and a maximum diamter of 23mm. The stud weighs 14.4 grams.

A copper-alloy stud, probably dating to the sixteenth to eighteenth centuries AD. The stud head is circular in plan and hemispherical in section. The upper surface of the head is decorated with a floral motif in relief comprising six petals surrounding a central circular knop. From the underside of the stud, there extend two circular-section tapering lugs. The stud measures 13.5mm in length and the head measures 16.5mm in diameter. On the underside, the two shanks are a maximum of 3.5mm in width.
