A copper-alloy element from an openwork belt plate dating to the Roman period. The object is hemispherical in section and comprises two waisted equal arms either side of two ribbed mouldings. The underside is flat and plain with no visible means of attachment. The object has a length of 41.8mm, a width of 4.9mm and a thickness of 2.9mm. The object weighs 3.1 grams. Belt plates with similar baluster mouldings are known from numerous military installations throughout the Empire, although Hoss catalogues no examples from Britain. Two fragments from a copper-alloy pendant, possibly a terminal pendant from a sword belt dating to the late second or third century AD. The pendant is leaf-shaped with an expanded rounded terminal at one end and an attachment loop at the other. The pendant measures 47mm in length and a maximum of 36mm in width. A copper-alloy stud, probably from a belt dating to the Roman period. The stud possesses a head which is lentoidal in shape and is almost triangular in section. Two opposing semi-circular lugs extend from the head, possibly casting sprues. From the underside of the head, there extends a circular-section lug which terminates in a flat, circular end plate. The stud head measures 16mm in length, 12mm in width and 8mm in thickness. The length of the stud is 15mm. The diameter of the lug is 2mm and the end plate 6mm. It weighs 4.85g.
