Roman silver finger ring of keeled type. The square section hoop expands to flat triangular shoulders decorated with incised lines and pecking on edges, which in turn narrow to a circular bezel with an applied circular disc, decorated with an incised geometric design.

Fragment of Roman silver finger ring. Solid cast, ovular and swelling profile, flattened bezel. Only one shoulder and part of hoop and just less than half of an oval bezel setting remain. The original stone is missing.

Circumstances of Discovery
Found in April 2008 during archaeological excavation on the site of Former sports field, Snodland prior to development, at a depth of approximately 0.2m. The find was recovered by hand from a single context containing large quantities of pottery and ceramic building material, interpreted as a demolition deposit.
