A very worn and incomplete silver Roman denarius, probaby of late-1st century AD date and perhaps Vitellius (AD 69). Uncertain reverse type depicting a standing female figure left holding vertical sceptre in left hand and uncertain object in right (Libertas?). Uncertain mint. The coin has extensive pale green copper-alloy corrosion products covering alll surfaces, the original surfaces of the silver coin visible both in the old breaks and in small patches where the corrosion has been chipped away. Cf. RIC I (2nd ed.), p. 268, no. 10passim for a similar reverse type of Vitellius.
