A very worn copper-alloy Post-Medieval British coin weight for a Laurel (20 shillings) of James I, 3rd coinage, dating to AD 1619-1625 (Withers and Withers, 1995: pp. 12-13). The weight is roughly square in form and on the front face depicts a laureate and draped bust left within a pelleted circle. The reverse carries a crowned mark of value XX/s within an inner circle, countermarkes with a crowned letter I (for James I) at top left. It measures approximately 17mm in width, 2mm in thickness, and c.7g in weight. As Withers and Withers,1995: pp. 12-13, 68.

A copper-alloy mount or strap slide dating to the post medieval period. The mount is circular in plan with two projecting ovoid lugs, each with a corroded central iron element (rivet?). The top is decorated with eight curvilinear lines projecting inwards from the edge and a central motif, possibly a flower with eight petals. Diameter: 30.7, thickness: 11.3, weight: 16.6 grams.

A copper-alloy object, possibly a box hasp or fitting dating to the post medieval period. It comprises a flat triangular sheet of copper-alloy with both ends folded over; the narrow end possesses a circular perforation, with the folded end also pierced. There is incised floral decoration consisting of two large flowers (one with eight petals, the other with six) and trailing vine with further small flowers and leaves. The edges of the object are slightly scalloped and decorated with a line of marginal dots. Length: 74.7mm, width: 27.4mm, thickness: 9.2, weight: 13.2g.

An incomplete copper-alloy sword belt fitting dating to the post medieval period. The fitting is olivate in shape and convex in section. At one end there is a collar comprising two horizontal ribs extending to a fragmentary looped terminal which is worn. At the other end there is a square-shaped perforation. The fitting measures 31mm in length and a maximum of 12mm in width. The square perforation measures 2.5mm in width. The fitting weighs 3.9 grams.

A copper-alloy stud, probably dating to the sixteenth to eighteenth centuries AD. The stud head is circular in plan and hemispherical in section. The upper surface of the head is decorated with a floral motif in relief comprising six petals surrounding a central circular knop. From the underside of the stud, there extend two circular-section tapering lugs. The stud measures 13.5mm in length and the head measures 16.5mm in diameter. On the underside, the two shanks are a maximum of 3.5mm in width.

One arm from a pair of nutcrackers dating to the late eighteenth century AD. The surviving arm comprises a lentoidal-section bar which extends to form a hemispherical section curved hook at one end. The hook terminates in a assymetrical, rounded terminal, with a small notch taken out of one edge. The object measures 70mm in length, 8mm in width, 4mm in thickness and weighs 17.5g. An incomplete copper-alloy sundial dating to AD 1652; the gnomon is missing. The sundial is thin and slightly dished; its edge is curved around the top where the edge follows the circular outline of the dial with a slight indentation in the centre. Post-medieval copper alloy book fitting. The front of the fitting is rectangular in plan. One end flares and does not have a straight or finished edge. The point at which the flare occurs there is a circular hole in the centre. The opposite end has a projecting hook which curves under. On the body of the fitting is a design of a six petalled flower, off centre near the hole, and at the hook end is a double line of zig-zag designs. The underside is plain.

Copper alloy cast button, convex face and plain reverse. At the centre of the face is an additional boss with a knop at the apex. The button has a plain border and raised lines that radiate from the base of the boss to the outer border. On the reverse is an integral shank, sub-rectangular in shape and cross section with a drilled hole just off centre and at that point the shank bulges slightly.

Copper alloy cast button, circular in plan with a convex face. There is a central knop at the apex and radiating out from this towards the outer edge is a six petalled design. In each petal, at the widest end is a pellet and in between each petal at the edge of the button is a smaller pellet. The reverse is plain with the mould lines visible and an attachment loop with circular cross section for fastening.
