An incomplete cast copper alloy strap fitting/strap union dating to the Late Iron Age or early Roman period, c. 100 BC- 100 AD. The strap union has three circular rings joined at the central point to form a triangular formation. Only one ring is complete. On one side is a vertical strap bar. It is unclear how the opposing strap bar would have situated, if indeed there was one at all. Figure-of-eight strap unions are well documented. As this example has a triangular formation it may be best to categorise it as a Taylor and Brailsford Type 4 (miscellaneous). Other strap unions with sim…

An incomplete cast copper alloy unidentified object of Late Iron Age or early Roman date (c. 100 BC - AD 120). The object has an openwork crescentic terminal with rounded edges which tapers into a circular base. The underneath of the base has iron corrosion. The object may be a linch pin terminal for a cart or chariot (see WMID-86FE85 and KENT-AA9995 for comparison), but it seems small for that function. It may be a key terminal or a furntiure fitting, although no parallels have been found.
