An incomplete, copper alloy socketed axe, dating to the late Bronze Age, c. 1000-800 BC. The object is sub-rectangular in plan. The axe is cast, with a plain and gently tapering body lacking any external ridging, a semi-circular loop whose inner end coincides with a low moulding for a round collared mouth of external diameter 39.06mm. The cutting edge is missing, and there is a vertical break along the object, which might have been deliberate. Within the socket, the mouth achieves a sub-rectangular shape.
