A mid 19th century (1800-1900) Brass police composite button from a uniform jacket. The button is machine pressed with inscription SHROPSHIRE CONSTABULARY on a raised band around a recessed central Crown. Reverse has a machine pressed back -with possible maker PEARSON inscribed.

A Post Medieval cast copper alloy 'dandy' button. The button is made of tombac (an alloy of mostly copper and zinc with some other elements) giving a silvery appearance. The button has a flat back and front with a copper alloy loop soldered in the centre of the reverse. The front has an incised pattern of a central flower with a surrounding outer image formed of short curved lines creating a clouded effect; the areas between the lines contain groups of three and four transverse lines creating a corded effect and adding character to the petals.

One nineteenth-century cast and machine pressed copper alloy livery button. The button is circular in plan. The obverse is flat and depicts an erect fist holding a torch. Stamped on the reverse is the maker's details, although the flat face is worn some text has survived, "Jenn--ons London". The button is silvered at the front. There is a small cast stud on the reverse, the loop is damaged leaving only a stud, this is likely due to panning of the soil and corrosion in deposition.

One nineteenth-century cast and machine pressed copper alloy livery button. The button is circular in plan. The obverse is convex and depicts a Cornucopia. Stamped on the reverse is the maker's details, on the concave face is written, "PITT & CO 31 HADDOX LONDON WAY". The button is silvered at the front. There is a small cast stud on the reverse, the loop is complete but blocked with iron corrosion (probably from iron panning in the soil).

Cast lead alloy button of probable post medieval date (1500-1700 ). The button is circular in plan, and semi-circular (D shaped) in cross-section with the remains of a central rectangular pierced lug on the rear. The front face of the button is domed amd the flanks of the dome are decorated with a neat regular pattern comprising of lines flowing from the centre around a Maltese cross. A cast copper alloy button of post medieval date (1550-1750). The button is circular in plan and D shaped in cross section with a central projecting nipple or knop. The front face of the button is undecorated. The reverse is flat and a scar at the mid-point is present where an applied wire hoop was attached.

A silver plated cast copper alloy button. The button is circular in plan and D shaped in cross section. The front face is decorated and this consists of a central raised boss around which a series of four encircling zones extend. These zones of decoration are annulets, a ring of triangles, a raised circlet and another ring of annulets. The reverse is flat and plain with no sign of tinning / plating an applied copper alloy loop is fixed at the mid-point.
The button measures: 6.15mm thick, 24.4mm in diameter and weigh 29.4 grams

A fragment from a cast leaded copper alloy button which has been broken in the plough soil and all surfaces enriched with silver / tin. It is likely to date from the later post medieval period (1660-1750) The external edge of the button is decorated with a series of circumferentially placed annulets. The button measures / has a length of 18.69mm and is 16.44mm wide and is 1.22mm thick; it weighs 1.06 grams
