Post medieval pottery vessel sherds. One rim sherd, four base sherds and ten body sherds of Midlands Purple ware pottery (1600 - 1720). The fabric of the sherds is a hard earthware with small rounded and sub-angular inclusions of grit and quartz. The colour of the inclusions varies however most are of a light yellow or white colour. The colour of the fabric is a purple grey with some of the sherds coated in a dark purple slip that appears burnished in some areas. Weight 481.6g.

A Roman Samian Ware body sherd possibly from a bowl (AD 50 - 200). The sherd is triangular in plan, rectangular in cross-section and slightly curved in profile. The fabric is hard with an orange core and an orange gloss slip on the outer and inner surfaces. The shred is relief decorated with a ridge running along one edge and a possible leaf and stem design in the centre. Thickness 10.81mm and weight 11.44g.

An incomplete copper alloy medieval to post-medieval (1300 - 1600) handle lug. The lug has a zoomorphic design, possibly depicting a dog's head, the decoration is engraved. The lug is broadly cylindrical in shape with a round knop at one end forming the nose of the dog's head, there is a perforation through the centre of the lug. A copper alloy object of uncertain function (c. AD 1100 - 1650). The object most resembles the medieval zoomorphic mount from the handle of a vessel such as a chafing dish. An incomplete and broken lead alloy toy gun (1600 - 1700). The toy is probably modelled on the petronel pistol that was popular in the 17th century (Forsyth & Egan, 2005: 97). The toy consists of a cylindrical barrel, powder pan and hollow decorated butt, the trigger of the gun appears to be missing. The butt is decorated on one side with diagonal ridges with three pellets between each ridge and a raised border containing the pattern. The toy has a beige patina. Length 61.99mm, width 11.03mm, thickness 7.01mm and weight 15.76g.

A lead alloy uniface token, Powell type 18. Tokens can be difficult to date, though this one is probably post medieval (c. AD 1500 - 1800). The obverse is decorated with a bird on a branch with a possible letter C or G above, contained within a pelleted border. The reverse is plain. The object is possibly a tavern token representing the bird in the bush. Diameter 21.75 mm and weight 6.9 g. Bird designs on tokens were apparently popular in the Sussex area, although examples have been found in the East Midlands (LEIC-31A954).

A copper alloy hook from a sword belt dating from c. 1600 - 1700 (Read, 2008; pp 221-2, nos 797-800). An oval plate bearing three simplistic flowers each formed of one circular centre and four oval petals. It has a rounded attatchment knop on one end and a slightly projected ridged collar at the juncture of the plate and the hook. It is coated in a patchy brown and dark green patina.
