A worn and damaged post medieval silver groat of Mary (AD 1553 - 1558) dating to 1553 - 1554. As North (1991), no: 1960. Obverse: very worn, crowned bust just visible, MARIA D G ANG FRA Z HIB REGI. Reverse: long cross fourchee over royal shield, VERITAS TEMPORIS FILIA .
The coin is split at the edge, with a section of the flan curling back over the obverse.
Diameter 23 mm, thickness 1 mm and weight 1.5 g.
