A complete Roman copper-alloy sestertius of Claudius (AD 41-54), dating to the period AD 41-50 (Reece Period 2). TI CLAVDIVS CAESAR AVG P M TR P IMP depicting Claudius bare headed and togate seated left on a curule chair holding a branch in the right hand. A helmet and miscellaneous weaponry surround the curule. cf. RIC I, p. 137, no. 93. The coin is in good condition and only fairly worn.
