Late Bronze Age (c1150 to c800 BC) gold penannular ring (or 'lock ring') formed from gold sheets; the weight of the object suggests that these are probably wrapped around a copper-alloy core. There is some damage to the inner edge of one of the faces, where the two sheets have come apart slightly. Gold finger ring with blue stone setting of post-medieval date (c. 1500 - 1700 AD). The hoop is flat on the underside and very slightly curved on the upper face; it widens slightly to the shoulders. The bezel is oval and takes the shape of four petals angled inwards towards a central oval setting. The stone within the setting is light green-blue with some small red flecks. The stone is broadly oval but slightly irregular in shape; it is also much too small for the setting, which may suggest that the present stone is not the original. This is further suggested by the vertical fracture …

Gold Roman finger ring with inscribed bezel (c. AD 43 - 200). The finger ring has a rectangular-sectioned hoop which widens from a very narrow point to a flat, rectangular bezel. The bezel appears to have been stamped with a rectangular stamp (the outline of which is faintly visible). Incised onto the bezel within the rectangular outline are three initials: G B R. The letters are of unequal size and uncertain execution. The finger ring has been flattened, probably while in the ground, and this has resulted in some fracturing of the hoop at the point where it has been bent. There are a…
