Incomplete Middle Bronze Age socketed axehead dating to the period c. 1500 - 1200 BC. Narrow-bodied with a square mouth and socket bordered by a deep, flat collar, now damaged. There is an irregular hole in one side of the body. Straight-sided, it remains uniform in width from just below the socket mouth until it expands into the flared cutting edge. Post medieval copper alloy button dating to the period c. AD 1650 - 1750. Discoidal, concavo-convex. The front decorated with an engraved voided saltire, two concentric circles at centre; crescents and annulets in each quarter. An integrally cast, D-shaped shank projects from the reverse. Incomplete copper alloy scabbard chape of medieval to post medieval date (c. AD 1485 - 1600). The upper section is trapezoidal with a crenelated upper edge. It exhibits openwork decoration in the form of a heart-shape, below which is a transverse ridge dividing the trapezoidal section from the lower ovate section. Below the dividing ridge is an openwork trefoil surrounded by a series of radiating ridges and grooves, described by Ward Perkins (1993) as scallop. At the bottom is a small D-sectioned knop.
