A fragment of a copper-alloy Roman Hod Hill brooch dating to AD 43 - 75. The brooch has a green-brown patination, the head, bow, middle side lug and the foot survive . The head of the brooch is fully intact, the head has been curled upwards to form the axis bar. In the centre of the head is a recess to hold the missing pin. The bow is sub triangular in shape. The bow is decorated with four vertical ridges (all different widths, and also travels across the only present side lug), and there is a horizantal ridge, acting like a divider between the bow and the foot of the brooch.…

A fully complete copper alloy late Iron Age or Roman strip bow brooch, dating to the period AD 25-70. The wings of the brooch are tubular in shape and in cross section which fold and then roll forward. Within this component is the central aperture and the pin. The pin remains fully intact to the brooch and moves freely. The head extends downwards at approximately 45 degrees, and taper inwards as it reaches the bow. An Iron Age La Tene I type brooch dating to the period c. 400 - 200 BC. The head consists of an integrally cast spring with a chord and four loops wrapped around a copper alloy axis bar. The fourth loop becomes the pin and passes under the chord before tapering to a point. The body arches upwards from the head at almost 90 degrees and widens along its length. It has a convex obvese and a slightly concave reverse. A fragment of a Roman cast copper alloy spoon with a mandolin-shaped bowl of Crummy 1983, Type 3 dating to the late Roman period AD 250-300. The handle is lozenge in shape and cross section and reflects an un-natural bend at c.90 degrees. There are breaks at both ends and only a tiny stub of the bowl remains. The section of the handle before it drops to is decorated with a small series of indents (three in total). The last section of the handle drops and curl inwards creating a "C" shape.
