A post-medieval gold zoomorphic seal matrix, dating to the period AD 1750-1900. It is formed of a handle and a base, which is inset with an engraved glass setting. The handle is a snake biting its own tail, with the looped and overlapping body providing the handle and small loop for this seal matrix. The snake is attached to the base by one side of its head and tail. On the head of the snake there are striations, depicting the eyes and nostrils.
