From each side of this section are short flat rectangular sections which extend at opposite sides. These terminate with circular lobes, each with a rivet hole. The entire mount remains undecorated, but holds a green patina on all surfaces. It is 13.75mm in diameter and 3.92mm in height. The central hole has a diameter c1.92mm. It weighs 0.46g. A copper alloy and iron Roman furniture fitting dating to the period c. AD 43 - 410. The fitting is circular in plan and consists of a upper disc which shows evidence of iron corrosion. This narrows into the circular shaft. Just above the shaft are two circular knops, which sit side by side. The object then widens again into another disc which is its base. This is wider than the upper disc and is concaved inside. The height of this object is 11.27mm, the diameter of the larger disc is 11.41m, and the smaller is 8.33mm. The weight is 3.89g. The strap end is broadly rectangular shape with a small knop projecting from one end, and three knops projecting from the other. The strap end measures 25.17mm in length and 13.85mm wide and 2.86mm in thickness. The weight is 3.12g.
