A complete post medieval lead cloth seal dating to the period AD c.1500- 1700. The seal is comprised of two discs, which are both linked together by a rectangular tag. The tag has appeared to have been a single piece lead with symmetrical sides and then folded over, sealing the two discs together. Originally, the symbol would have been stamped on the obverse surface of a disc, however this ceases to exist. Overall, the seal is 27.63mm in height, the diameter of the two discs is 21.63mmm the overall thickness of the seal is 7mm, and it weighs 13.76g. Please see WILT-3D936E for…

A complete silver medieval penny of Edward I dating to the period AD 1299-1305. This penny is a mule with a Class 10 obverse and a Class 9b reverse. The inscription for the obverse occurs from class 10 onwards and it is suggested as a Class 10ab. The reverse has the distinctivr pot leg N whereas the obverse is barred. Mint of London.

An incomplete Roman or medieval lead weight dating to c AD 43-1500. Its cross section is D shape, but it appears to be rather flat, compared to other weight specimens. It could be suggested that the weight was unintentionally squashed or cut at some point. Despite these physical changes, the weight still has a central perforation, and on the anterior surface, a raised area of lead giving the weight a bee hive like effect. The central perforation is c9.74mm in diameter. It weighs 33.04g and measures 28.29mm in diameter and is 8mm thick/in height.

A complete Roman or medieval lead weight dating to c AD 43-1500. It is D shape in section, with a central perforation. Around the entire centre of the item is a ridge. One area of the item has suffered significant damage. Evidence of this is a diagonal line, which almost resembles a chisel or deep cut mark. The central perforation is c8.34mm in diameter. It weighs 34.29g and measures 21.70mm in diameter and is 14.90mm thick/in height. c.f WILT-17C82B on the PAS database.

A complete copper alloy beehive shaped thimble dating to the medieval to early post medieval period AD 1400- 1550. The thimble is cast made (which is very usual (Holmes 1991), and is domed in shape, with flared sides and a rounded tonsure top. The recognizable indentations covers the whole item. An incomplete copper alloy Roman Polden Hill type brooch, dating to the period AD 75- 175. The head of the brooch is cylindrical in shape with complete end caps, and they both have a circumferential groove. On the undersides of the wings, the coils of the spring are exposed. A fragment of a lead stylus dating to the period AD c.1100- c.1700. The fragment is small and stout (28.281mm in length). There is no pointed tip, so this fragment could be a fragment of the main body of the stylus. Both of the break point exposes the internal cavity which is filled with lead.
