A Iron Age or Roman copper alloy fragment of a strip bow brooch, (Aucissa derivative) dating to the 1st century AD. The fragment is the wings, a small part of the head and the bow. The bow is decorated the two grooves, which are filled with tiny incisions. The grooves start at the widest point of the bow, and finish just before the bow narrows to the foot which has broken off. The bow wider near its wings, and progressively…

An incomplete post medieval lead filled granite stone horse tether, most likely dating to the 19th century AD. The stone is very large, heavy, and would have been spherical in shape, but with a flat base (a large fragment of the stone has broken off). On the top of the stone is a recess which is now filled with lead holding an incomplete iron loop and ring in place. Once set, the ring would have been secure enough to safely tether a horse, no matter what size. The attachment of the ring is still visible, but the bands which would have made up the ring have broken off, and do not mo…

A handmade wall fragment of a vessel, dating between the periods AD 1000- AD 1200. The fragment is irregular in shape, is a form of coarse wear and has rather visible flint inclusions.
