An incomplete copper alloy cast Roman Colchester derivative (double lug) brooch dating to the period AD 43- 100. The head and the wings of the brooch remain simple. The wings are D-shaped in cross section and in terminal shape. On the inferior side of the head is the two piece mechanism, which is part of the widest area of the head. As the head reaches the bow it tapers inwards until it reaches the foot. The entirety of the brooch remains undecorated. A fragment of the pin survives. An incomplete copper alloy and iron Roman possible furniture fitting. At one end of the item are three bands of copper alloy, these call connect together and create a loop with two projecting terminals. The loop tapers before expanding to a conical projection with a flat base. Projecting from this is the remnants of an iron cylindrical projection. The height of this item is 25.56mm, the diameter of the dome section is 8.78mm, the width of the apeture of the A shape attachment is 9.38mm and the weight of the overall object is 3.64g.
