A fragment of a lead stylus dating to the period AD c.1100- c.1700.
The fragment is small and stout (32.31mm in length). The pointed tip which would have been used them to write with shows evidence of work, scrapping, chiselling etc. The break point exposes the internal cavity which is filled with lead. The colour of the object is off white, and it is tubercle in cross sections.
The diameter of the body of the stylus is 6.88mm and it weighs 10.58g.

Both of the break point exposes the internal cavity which is filled with lead. The colour of the object is off white, and it is tubercle in cross sections.
The diameter of the body of the stylus is 6.17mm and it weighs 8.45g.
