A copper alloy fragment of a Roman trumpet brooch dating between the 1st and 2nd century AD. The loop, pin, lower bow foot and catchplate are missing.
The head of the brooch is semi-circular in shape, and a fixture potentially a loop has broken off. The arched edge of the head has a fine groove boarder, and down the centre there is a vertical ridge, which follows down to the bow. There is only small fragment of the bow left, and it arches from the base of the head until the break just below the button.
