An incomplete copper alloy purse bar, dated to the medieval period of 1475 AD to 1600 AD.
The bar fragment is V shaped in cross section and is curved. The edges are smooth, and both ends are broken. The front face is inscribed: [...GL]ORIA followed by niello inlay.There are two small perforations (side by side) on the front face which would have been utilised as an attachment point for the purse. The reverse is undecorated.
The length of the purse bar is 49.12mm, the thickness is 4.72mm and its weight is 7.60g.

An incomplete copper alloy purse bar, dated to the medival period of 1475 AD to 1600 AD. The bar fragment is V shaped in cross section. The edges are smooth, and both ends are broken. The anterior side would have been seen by the public, and it has been purposfully decorated with a lined geometric pattern (two thin lines running parrallel to each other in a diagoinal direction, the following set of lines follow, but in a different direction).
