A fragment of a copper alloy, Roman T shape brooch, dating to the period AD 50-150. The fragment is compromised of the wings, head and the very top of the bow. The wings are cylindrical is shape and cross section, with two fine grooves surrounding each terminal. The terminals are closed off. On the posterior side of the wings, there is a central groove which exposes a very stunted pin head. The head of the bow arches upwards at an obtuse angle and is elaborately decorated. A copper alloy fragment of a Roman trumpet brooch dating between the 1st and 2nd century AD. The loop, pin, lower bow foot and catchplate are missing. The head of the brooch is semi-circular in shape, and a fixture potentially a loop has broken off. The arched edge of the head has a fine groove boarder, and down the centre there is a vertical ridge, which follows down to the bow. A Iron Age or Roman copper alloy fragment of a strip bow brooch, (Aucissa derivative) dating to the 1st century AD. The fragment is the wings, a small part of the head and the bow. The head of the bow should roll downwards on a strip bow brooch, with this example the head rolls upwarda although this appears to be damage rather than design. The bow is decorated the two grooves, which are filled with tiny incisions. The grooves start at the widest point of the bow, and finish just before the bow narrows to the foot which has broken off.
