A complete post medieval copper alloy 4 ounce stacking trade weight of the Commonwealth dating to AD 1649-1660. The trade weight comprises a disc which has been ground down on one side leaving a rim around the edge. In the centre is a circular depression used to hold the weight while it was being ground. A complete copper alloy beehive shaped thimble dating to the medieval to early post medieval period AD 1400- 1550. The thimble is cast made (which is very usual (Holmes 1991), and is domed in shape, with flared sides and a rounded tonsure top. The recognizable indentations covers the whole item. They starts at the tonsure top and spiral down until c. 1cm before the base edge. Below is a rim, with two faded circumferential grooves. The object is composed of two shapes, a rectangle (with its top edge missing) and an open work circle (this would have been the suspension loop). The clasp is one piece and is cast made. The plate is missing. The base edge of the rectangular section has a intentional raised bent edge, decorated with three fine grooves.
