An incomplete copper alloy gilded pin of an uncertain date. A broadly similar parallel can be found in Egan and Pritchard (1991) "Dress Accessories" page 300 No,1476 which suggests a medieval date is possible. Overall, the pin is badly corroded, but the head of the pin can be surely identified as a pentagonal head with five points, four of which form the sides of the shape, and the fifth located at the top of the head.
