An incomplete cast copper-alloy Roman plate brooch, dating to the period AD 100- 250. The brooch is circular in shape, measuring 21.37mm in diameter and weighs 4.48g. It is incomplete insofar as the pin is missing, along with any decoration that may have resided in the central circular recess. The plate brooch has been divided into three. A small central circular recess, measuring 2.96mm in diameter, then there is a larger circular recess, measuring 14.88mm in diameter.
