A fragment of an unusual lead brooch, potentially dating to the medieval period AD 1100- AD 1500.
The fragment of the brooch is the head, it is flat in cross section and circular in shape. On the anterior surface, there are two projections. The first is central and surrounded by a raised border. The second it located slightly off centre outside of the raised border. An incomplete circular, medieval copper alloy annular brooch, dating to the period AD 1270-1400. This brooch measures 31.00mm in diameter, with a thickness of 1.64mm, and weighs 2.51g. Only half of the brooch remains, all other componenets of the brooch are missing. The superior surface of the brooch is decorated with very fine lines, forming a punched cresent design.
